Nine Elms Linear Park

Camlins has been involved with many projects in the Nine Elms area of central London. Our critical early input was to crystalise the concept of Nine Elms Linear Park, the centrepiece of the new residential neighbourhood. This a public park as unifying green infrastructure, extending through a number of development sites and two London Boroughs, namely Wandsworth and Lambeth. In order to work as a green movement corridor and coherent public park, it was essential to work with many parties to establish design continuity in terms of aesthetic appearance, technical design and capacity for future management.

The design concept enshrined three principles: the park must be open to the public at all times, must be car free and must extend to the building line on all sides. There is an emphasis on greenery and facilitating a huge range of programmed activity.
