Gascoigne West Phase 1, Barking

Gascoigne West is a community regeneration scheme of 800+ new homes and updated public realm. Camlins worked closely with White Arkitekter to assist in the production of tender information for the landscape design before taking the lead on the management of the landscape during construction for Be First. The landscape design incorporated an updated public realm design that focussed on play space and ‘play on the way’ features to define the characteristics of the neighbourhood, and a 1st floor and 6th floor communal podium space for residential amenity uses. The success of the project was due to a few key factors, ensuring enough playable space was provided to provide for the 800+ homes and delivering a comprehensive public realm that integrated with the wider estate green space network.
