El Almacen, Lanzarote

Our proposal was based on Lanzarote landscapes. The shapes forms and textures have inspired our ideas, but most importantly we have been inspired by the people who use these landscapes. It is through this use that we see some of the unique landscapes which are synonymous with the island of Lanzarote. The activities undertaken on these landscapes have been shaped through necessity, they reflect the physical, cultural and social character of those lives. Through our proposal we have endeavoured to create a unique public square, reflecting the social and cultural needs of Arrecife. Consideration has been given to create a plaza which provides varied use, the result being a dynamic square which is shaped and changed by the people who use it.
