41 Lothbury
41 Lothbury is located in the Bank Conservation Area close to the Bank of England. The scheme will see the refurbishment of 7 storeys of the existing building, to improve office facilities. Working closely with the architects Stiff and Trevillion, Camlins brief was to develop external terrace space over numerous levels. The proposals needed to be sensitive to the listed building, and mindful of the Conservation Area. An understanding of building use, and tenant occupancy was crucial in creating appropriate design for each level. The roof terrace which provides communal amenity space is the most complex, needing to cater for numerous activities for work and recreation set within a verdant environment provided by new planted areas. Overall, the new terraces will bring a new dynamic to the building, creating external space in a natural environment which did not exist in the old building.
