Coco, Yeuk Nam Chan

Senior Landscape Architect

Coco is a versatile landscape architect who embarked on her Camlins journey after completing her Master’s degree at Manchester School of Architecture and a BA in Landscape Studies at The University of Hong Kong. She initially joined as a Graduate Landscape Architect, later expanding her horizons in Thailand for three years before returning to Camlins in 2021. Before Camlins, she garnered experience in various projects across Thailand, China, and Vietnam. Her role as a landscape architect centres on active participation in design discussions, collaborating seamlessly within the team and understanding the conceptual approach.

Coco is becoming a well-rounded landscape architect, drawing inspiration from senior colleagues as they build strong relationships with clients and consultants. In the practice she contributes to landscape design, produces drawings and reports and coordinates with the design team. Additionally, she is the go-to colleague for graphic production, creating illustrative plans, sections and views in Photoshop.

In her project work, she’s involved in schemes such as West Malling, Chigwell and Coventry City Centre South, gaining insights into design details, coordination and material selection. Coco takes pride in all her projects, from small-scale gardens to urban regeneration, recognising the impact landscape design has on enhancing spatial experiences. She was initially inspired by Camlins’ public realm schemes in Ancoats, Manchester, during her studies, realising the meaningful impact of landscape architecture on spatial quality.

Outside work, Coco enjoys traveling, fishing and drawing inspiration from the natural world. Coastal areas are where she feels most alive, captivated by the sea’s tranquillity and the beauty of natural landforms shaped by water. In three words, Coco describes herself as ambitious, efficient and thorough. A surprising fact about her is her proficiency in speaking Thai, a skill she acquired while working in Bangkok, reflecting her commitment to embracing local cultures.
