The Moors Nook, Horsell

Moor’s Nook is a later living community of 34 one and two bedroom apartments, situated a short walk from Horsell village and close to the centre of Woking. The architecture makes reference to the local Arts & Crafts vernacular, whilst the landscape draws inspiration from the ecology of nearby Horsell Common. This remarkable landscape was chosen by HG Wells as the Martian landing ground in his novel, The War of the Worlds.

The heart of the development is a south facing communal courtyard garden, enclosed by front gardens to individual apartments. This friendly, sunny space includes a lawn, terrace and BBQ. The planting makes a unique garden by borrowing the aesthetic of the local heathlands through use of ornamental heathers, pines and other perennials that thrive in the acid soils. Residents can involve themselves in gardening, or just relax and socialise.
