Theatre Square, London

Theatre Square is a 23 storey residential building for private rental, including affordable homes. It is next to Hampstead Theatre, Swiss Cottage Open Space, Swiss Cottage Library and the leisure centre. The success of the development relies upon creating high quality public realm, properly integrated with the surrounding city. However, the public realm area within the ownership boundary is relatively small. Therefore, improvements were proposed in considerable areas outside the site boundary, working in collaboration with LBC, TfL, LUL and other partners. The development presented an opportunity to make an active and high quality eastern side to greatly enhance the existing green space. On the west side, new active frontage and public realm improvements will combine with TfL investment in the Cycle Superhighway 11 to enhance the busy urban thoroughfare at Avenue Road / Finchly Road. Enabling works stated on site in 2018.
