South Lambeth Estate
South Lambeth Estate was built in the 60s and 70s. It is mostly low density and does not meet current housing quality standards. Camlins has been working closely with the strong residential community, in a team led by Tibbalds and Pollard Thomas Edwards, to develop a new masterplan for regeneration of the housing and external spaces. The green space around the 300+ new affordable homes and private rented maisonettes / apartments will include a pocket park, a neighbourhood square, play space, sports facilities and secure communal courtyards.
A key aspect of the brief is to engage with the established community groups and identify how they would like to shape the public, communal and private spaces where they live. The consultation process has ensured that existing resident initiatives around play, gardening and edible produce are taken forward with strong support.
